The Suriya Lamai project was created to support children, mothers, and families living in difficult social conditions in Sri Lanka. In cooperation with local organizations, we support direct and meaningful help where it is truly needed — safe shelter, education, healthcare, and support for a dignified life.
One of the projects we support is the MA Sevana Center, which provides care and assistance to young mothers and children in need.
About the MA Sevana Project
MA Sevana is a safe home and support center for young mothers, pregnant women, and children who have been left without family support or who are facing difficult life circumstances.
Many women come to the center after experiencing domestic violence, poverty, social rejection, or interrupted education. Some of them have been left completely alone without a safe place to live. The center provides not only immediate assistance but also the opportunity to gradually rebuild a stable and dignified life.
Educational Support
Many young mothers were forced to leave school because of pregnancy or difficult family situations. Without education, their opportunities for independence and employment become very limited.
The center therefore supports:

tutoring and basic schooling

practical vocational courses

sewing, cooking, and handicraft skills

basic computer training

financial literacy

preparation for future employment
The goal is to help women gain greater independence and create a safer future for themselves and their children.
Support for Children
