Underprivileged families
Our project focuses on supporting underprivileged families live in hardly accessible areas in Sri Lanka. Many of these families struggle with poor housing conditions and limited access to basic resources. Some of their homes were damaged during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and in recent years they have been further damaged by severe weather events, including flooding and the impact of Cyclone Ditwah, which caused widespread destruction across Sri Lanka.
Through donations and community support, we aim to help rebuild these houses and create safe living conditions for families in need. read more>
More detailed information about the rebuilding plan and expenses can be found in the document below

Sujit Kumara
A deaf boy, named Sujit Kumara, was helped by the venerable Bhikkhunī to attend a school with mentally disabled children. His mother did not have any financial support, so she was not able to provide him with his special necessities. Dharma Dassa family
A woman with three children lived in a tumbledown shed with her husband who was dying of Leukemia. The woman cultivated and took care of the vegetable crop. She also did some sewing to support her family. Early in the morning, she would go with her half year old child to Colombo to sell her products and she would return home only late in the evening. At home there would be staying and waiting, her four and eight year old girls and her ten year old boy. The oldest girl took care of their father and the house chores. The family suffered from denutrition (athrepsia). For several years the family was provided with a support in form of rice, small toys for the children and basic necessities.
