Nature and Function of the Ārāma
Ārāma Karuṇā Sevena
Karuṇā Sevena has entered a quiet phase of its development and is returning to its original nature as a monastic refuge.
In the past period, the public operation of the ārāma has been concluded and the possibility of residential stays has been closed. At the same time, the adjacent house (Viveka), which previously served as accommodation for visitors, was sold. With this step, a phase has come to an end in which the ārāma functioned as an open place for courses, retreats, and short-term stays.
The ārāma now serves primarily as a personal refuge for Venerable bhikkhunī Visuddhi and as a foundation for her own practice. It is no longer intended for residential stays or for individual practice by visitors. It is returning to what it is meant to be — a refuge of the Triple Gem, a place for the life and practice of a member of the Saṅgha, a protected space where the Dhamma can mature in silence and continuity.
This change arises from the need to protect the conditions for monastic life and to allow for deeper dedication to practice. It is not a closing off from people, but a natural development of this place.
At the same time, the possibility of personal contact with Venerable bhikkhunī Visuddhi remains. Meetings are possible by prior arrangement and are intended primarily for guidance in practice and spiritual orientation.

Arrangement: by prior email
Purpose of meetings: guidance in practice, not general counseling
All other time is dedicated to silence, personal practice, and the running of the ārāma.
